National Symbols
Italy's flag consists of three colors: green, white, and green. The flag is inspired by the one Napolean brought to Italy in 1797. Italy's national animal is the Ialian wolf, while its national plant is the olive.
The olive is a symbol of the Medditerrianian Sea and its gardens. The olive also grows in Lebanon, Iran, Sryria, and near China. The olive can survive for 2000 years if its cared for correctly. Italy produces about 3,150,000 tons of olives a year.
The Italian wolf is known by the Apennine Wolf and is the subspecies of the Grey Wolf. They're nocturnal and can eat at the most 7 pounds of meat each day! The Apennine wolf may also eat berries and plants as well.
